For us, the Ballyblack Stout from Ards Brewing Company was one of the stars of the Belfast Beer and Cider Festival 2011, but finding it after the festival was difficult.. Until we stumbled across a treasure trove of local beers at Bittles Bar in Belfast!

We picked up a copy of The Taste Diaries the other day. Written by Michael Devlin, the food columnist for The Ulster Herald newspaper, the cookbook aims to try their hand at cooking – so expect good, solid recipes without too much faffing around. As good as the recipes are, though, it’s Michael’s stories that had us coming back for more!
